Stuck!

I do not want to share my name, but I believe you can relate to the subject matter. Perhaps you have been or are stuck in a particular place in life. Living in a stuck position can be frustrating. There are times you are stuck due to other peoples decisions. However, there are times you are stuck because you are overwhelmed. This is the word that has described my life for months.

I started to realize the more I gave in accepting the mindset of being overwhelmed, the more complacent and lazy I became. The bible speaks about laziness in Proverbs 24:30-34, "I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction. A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man". The wisdom of Solomon who wrote Proverbs speaks volumes to those of us who find ourselves stuck.

I had to make a decision to apply this Scripture to my life; I had to start somewhere. This portion of the Scripture above has been my transforming phrase "a man lacking sense." Read the verse again. The man did not lack opportunity, he had a vineyard. I too am not lacking opportunity, it is abundant. Maybe you would ask me, if they are abundant, why am I overwhelmed? My opportunities are overwhelming because they require more from me than the usual. I must come out of my comfort zone. I have to work harder, be disciplined, and sacrifice in areas I do not want to sacrifice.

I made a decision to embrace my call and destiny. I have to answer to God for how I use my gifts, talents, and resources. I'm making progress; taking it one day at a time. Making the decision to change is not easy, but it is worth it. Being stuck was and is no longer an option. What about you? Tired of being stuck?...decide to do something about it. I am sure you will be grateful and find your vineyard growing and blessed.
